Read for the Cure benefiting BC Cancer
Wednesday, November 8, 2017

Each year in the fall we host a series of author events across Canada, which could best be described as a large book club meeting, complete with nibbles and a cash bar. We have created a unique format for these events featuring three authors who speak about their work, rather than reading from their book. After their individual presentations, a question and answer session offers an opportunity for our guests to learn more about their favourite authors. Each guest also takes home copies of the three authors’ books, courtesy of our corporate sponsor, Penguin Random House of Canada Ltd.

All proceeds from our events are donated to research environmental links to cancer. At the Vancouver event, proceeds go to the Cancer Research Society (75%) and the BC Cancer Foundation (25%). In 2016, we donated $7,600 to the BC Cancer Foundation.

Since our inception in 2007, we have donated over $1.1 million to cancer research in Canada.
