Friends of the BC Cancer Foundation from across the province are invited to connect with world-renowned BC Cancer scientists in an immersive, ‘as close to in-person as it gets’ event using the hybrid digital platform EventHive VX. The evening will focus on innovations within our cancer community and offer attendees an opportunity to learn about and support advancements in life-saving prostate cancer technology.
Highlights of the evening
BC Cancer radiation oncologist Dr. Abraham Alexander will shine a light on Prostate Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA)-PET, a state-of-the-art imaging technology, and the profound impact it’s having on managing – and curing – prostate cancer. Improving access to these game-changing scans will save lives across B.C., and provide hope to the over 3,500 individuals a year who receive a prostate cancer diagnosis in our province.
Art and science collide to create beautiful possibilities that “combine analytical clarity with artistic dimension” in a special multimedia exhibit by Mr. Martin Krzywinski, scientist (and resident artist) at Canada’s Michael Smith Genome Sciences Centre. Mr. Krzywinski’s artful information graphics have appeared in the New York Times and Wired, on book covers and in scientific journals.
Intimate breakout round-table virtual groups, hosted by BC Cancer experts, promise to inspire lively conversations about donor impact, research projects and programs of interest. And behind the scenes, guests can bid on extraordinary experiences and prize packages during the evening’s blind auction.

Attendance to this event is by a suggested tax-receiptable donation of $250 per household – but we welcome all donations in support of the 1 in 9 individuals who will receive a prostate cancer diagnosis in their lifetime.
