Building a better patient experience

The BC Cancer Agency Fraser Valley Cancer Centre, located adjacent to Surrey Memorial Hospital was built to accommodate 2,500 patients per year. Currently, over 3,300 patients are being referred to the Centre. The BC Cancer Foundation is embarking on a $1 million fundraising campaign to help support the expansion and renovation of the Fraser Valley Centre – an expansion that will boost the Centre’s capacity, allowing it to meet the increasing demand for cancer treatment.

How patients will benefit

  • Chemotherapy treatment capacity will increase from 10,700 to 15,000
  • Chemotherapy chairs will increase from 24 to 32
  • Ambulatory care capacity will increase from 34,500 to 47,500
