“I lost my mother to cancer when I was 19, and my father a few years later.”
Audrey Fox knows how devastating cancer can be. Her parents, Doris and George, were diagnosed with cancer within months of one another.
“My mother went through a great deal of pain before she died. For her, there was no pain control. No palliative care. No chemotherapy. At the time, I decided that if I ever had the means to help anyone avoid such suffering, I would.”
“When I arranged to leave a gift in their memory to the BC Cancer Foundation, I felt a sense of relief! I know my money will do some good. It will not be wasted.”
“I’ve lost a lot of friends to cancer, and I’m sure everyone knows someone who’s experienced the disease. By giving me a way to honour those I care about, this gift does as much for me as it does for the BC Cancer Foundation.”
“I’m happy to think that it will be spent on something useful to cancer patients in B.C., now or many years down the road.”

A Gift in Memory
A gift in memory is a meaningful and lasting tribute to a loved one, friend or co-worker. Your gift in memory will support leading-edge research that is helping save and improve the lives of the one in three British Columbians who will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. The BC Cancer Foundation will acknowledge your memorial gift with a note to the family and send you an acknowledgement with your charitable tax receipt.
