VICTORIA, B.C. – The BC Cancer Foundation and Junior Achievement of British Columbia (JABC) congratulate Colliers International on receiving the Corporate Responsibility Award for National Philanthropy Day in Victoria, organized by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

The BC Cancer Foundation and JABC jointly nominated Colliers International for their outstanding 25 years of continued philanthropic support on Vancouver Island. Colliers has unwaveringly supported cancer research and enhancements to patient care at the BC Cancer Agency, and business education for youth at JABC, through events like their annual charity golf tournaments and with support from their clients and staff.

“Colliers International is a true partner in discovery and we thank them for their ongoing support of the BC Cancer Foundation. As a philanthropic leader, Colliers International provides hope to the more than 3,600 patients who will receive cancer care at BC Cancer – Victoria this year,” says Douglas Nelson, President  & CEO of the BC Cancer Foundation.

In 2000, the BC Cancer Foundation received a $100,000 gift from Colliers towards the Daring to Believe campaign to support construction of BC Cancer – Victoria; and in 2010, they committed $250,000 to the Inspire the World Campaign to expand BC Cancer – Victoria. Their annual charity golf tournament continues to support the BC Cancer Foundation and enhance patient care.

”Colliers International has been outstanding among businesses through its involvement with Junior Achievement in British Columbia. Not only has Colliers provided funding for programs that prepare youth for a global economy, they have taken a true leadership role by providing countless volunteers to deliver JABC programs and to participate on our Boards,” says Jan Bell-Irving, President and CEO of Junior Achievement BC .

In 2010, Colliers donated $45,000 to Junior Achievement of British Columbia and the effects have been long-lasting. For the last three years, the funding has supported Junior Achievement’s Titan program which provided scholarships for three local students to attend the Next Generation Leader’s (NGL) Forum, a business conference offered to students worldwide. Colliers has also extended mentorship support, an offer and acceptance of internship, as well as opportunities to engage with the Colliers’ staff to share their NGL experiences.
