Vancouver, B.C. – Cheers to nearly 230 booze losers across the province who gave up alcohol throughout February and raised an amazing $70,000 for innovative cancer research and care at BC Cancer.

Lose the Booze participants pushed alcohol aside for 28 days, skipped happy hours and traded their merlot for mocktails in an effort to change the story for British Columbians facing a cancer diagnosis.

“We raise our glass and thank each participant for their tremendous support,” says Sarah Roth, president and CEO of the BC Cancer Foundation. “You are helping create a brighter future for so many families across our province impacted by cancer.”

Over the past five years, Lose the Booze has raised $310,000 for the BC Cancer Foundation. With one in two British Columbians facing a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime, Lose the Booze support has helped propel cutting-edge research breakthroughs and ensure people across B.C. have access to the latest enhancements in cancer care.
