October 6, 2010, Victoria, B.C. – BC Cancer Foundation is pleased to announce a donation of $50,000 from League Assets Corp. to its Inspire the World campaign. The campaign will fund a 10,000 square feet construction and renovation project to create a state-of-the-art patient and family support centre, a predictive cancer research centre and a radiation innovation wing at the BC Cancer Agency’s Vancouver Island Centre.

With approximately $600 million in real estate assets under management, League finds, acquires, improves and operates these investment properties on behalf of more than 2500 Member-Partner investors.

“One of League’s core values is supporting families in the communities in which we operate,” said League's Founding Partner, Adam Gant. “Many of our own staff and Member-Partners have friends and loved ones affected by cancer, so this particular cause strikes a chord in all of us. On behalf of everyone at League, my partner, Emanuel Arruda and I are proud to support the BC Cancer Foundation in their goal to provide innovative cancer research and improved support for patients and families.”

Every year, League Assets Corp. contributes 5 per cent of its bottom line to its own League Foundation, through which it directs philanthropic support toward numerous community and charitable endeavours. “League’s hope is that future generations will never need to fear the word ‘cancer’,” said Gant. “The BC Cancer Foundation is honoured that League Assets has made this philanthropic investment to help families today and in the future who are coping with cancer,” said campaign director Laura Walsh. “We hope that other business leaders will follow League’s example and help us reach our goals for this campaign.”
