Balls fore a Cause proudly supports both the Island Prostate Centre and the BC Cancer Foundation—a powerful team making a real difference in the fight against prostate cancer. That means every swing, every putt, and every laugh on the course is helping support care close to home and breakthroughs for the future. Not bad for a day on the links.
Spearheaded by Community Leader Daniel Low, he writes:
“In May of 2023, my life changed in a way I never expected—I was diagnosed with cancer.
Like many who hear those words, I was scared, uncertain, and faced with a battle I didn’t choose. Thankfully, with the support of incredible people and organizations, I was able to fight through it and come out the other side. I know how fortunate I am to be able to say that.
But not everyone gets that outcome.
During my journey, I met and learned about so many individuals and families who are still in the fight—or who have faced unimaginable loss. That’s something that stays with you. It changes you. And it’s the reason I felt I needed to do something meaningful to give back.
This year, I’ve partnered with the Island Prostate Centre and the BC Cancer Foundation to launch a fundraiser that is incredibly close to my heart. Our goal is to raise $100,000 this year, and with continued support, $1,000,000 over the next eight years—funds that will stay right here in our community to support those facing cancer.
On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, we’ll be hosting “Balls Fore a Cause” at Olympic View Golf Course—a day to come together, connect, and make a real difference.
Your participation would mean more than just a round of golf. It’s a chance to stand beside those who are fighting, to support families who need it most, and to be part of something bigger than all of us.”
Register before April 30th – any business or individual that registers a foursome and commits to the $2,000 fundraising amount will receive a complimentary “Hole Sponsorship Package”, including on-course signage. The Hole Sponsorship value is $2,000.
