SURREY, B.C. – People in Surrey and surrounding communities looking for information about cancer now have a new resource to answer their questions.
The Cancer Information Centre at the BC Cancer Agency’s Fraser Valley Centre offers books, audiovisuals and online resources on a range of topics, including cancer treatment, complementary and integrative medicine, side effects, nutrition and survivorship. The new centre will be staffed by a medical librarian and trained volunteers to help people find evidence-based answers to cancer-related questions.
A generous $50,000 donation from the Rotary Club of Surrey to the BC Cancer Foundation made the Cancer Information Centre possible. The money was raised through the club’s “Rotary Wine and Food Celebration.”
The BC Cancer Foundation worked with the Rotary Club of Surrey to ensure its donation would provide a lasting legacy for the public.
The Cancer Information Centre is located in the lobby of the BC Cancer Agency’s Fraser Valley Centre at 13750 96th Avenue, Surrey, and is open Monday to Friday between 8:30am to 4:00 pm. More information is available on the BC Cancer Agency’s library website.
