BC Cancer Foundation’s 2016 Discovery Luncheon – Abbotsford Raises Over $40,000 to Improve Outcomes for Lung Cancer Patients

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. – The BC Cancer Foundation’s 2016 Discovery Luncheon – Abbotsford raised over $40,000 to support the acquisition of a critical piece of equipment that will provide better patient outcomes and create clinical efficiencies for lung cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy at the BC Cancer Agency’s Abbotsford Centre. Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer death in both men and women in Canada.
The fourth annual Discovery Luncheon celebrated the importance of life-saving research happening each year at the BC Cancer Agency Abbotsford Centre and the future of cancer care through the latest advancements in treatment options.
“Through the generosity of BC Cancer Foundation donors, today we celebrate enhancements to cancer care happening right here in Abbotsford and its impact on lung cancer patients and their families,” said Sarah Roth, BC Cancer Foundation President & CEO.
Over the last four years, over $155,000 has been raised at the Discovery Luncheon for ground-breaking cancer research and enhancements to patient care at the BC Cancer Agency Abbotsford Centre.
