Almost half of cancer patients experience significant emotional distress, and 20% meet criteria for PTSD. To create a safe, neutral space, and more room for services such as psychiatry and counselling, BC Cancer Vancouver has opened a new Supportive Care clinic, separate from the cancer centre. Sarah Roth recently spoke about the importance of mental health services for cancer patients and the Foundation’s $1.43 million commitment to the new clinic, which will be the model for all centres.
