Father’s Day, The BC Ride & Dr. Poul Sorensen

June 6, 2012

Thank you Dr. Shah for sharing with us the amazing progress you have seen in cancer genome research, and your involvement in the recent breast cancer breakthroughs at the BC Cancer Agency.

Before I introduce our June guest blogger, I’d like to highlight a couple of upcoming events:

Father’s Day is just around the corner, and for many this is an opportunity to share with loved ones and honour those who have been affected by cancer. I encourage you to consider the gift of cancer research this Father’s Day. It is a meaningful gift that can make a difference. Please visit our website to learn more about our In Honour program.

The Ride to Conquer Cancer is less than 10 days away. This powerful movement of hope, healing, celebration, and optimism has raised over $27.9 million in three years, funds we are proud to invest in leading-edge cancer research at the BC Cancer Agency. If you know someone who is fundraising for the Ride, please show them your support this week!

Your support of the Ride helps to fund scientists like our June guest blogger, Dr. Poul Sorensen. Not only is Dr. Sorensen a Ride participant, he also leads the childhood cancer research program at the BC Cancer Agency. This month, Dr. Sorensen will talk about how funds raised through the Ride to Conquer Cancer have been supporting his research.

Thank you for reading,

Douglas
