With the pop of a cork, Booze Losers across the province are rejoicing.

After going alcohol-free for 29 days in February, participants in BC Cancer Foundation’s Lose the Booze are ready to break their happy hour ban and put the dry month behind them.

Over 230 people from across B.C. traded their wine for water and pints for pop and fundraised an amazing $62,137 in the process, which will directly support groundbreaking cancer research taking place at the BC Cancer Agency.

The funds raised will help further breakthroughs and critical research that will bring forth new treatment options and hope for over 26,000 British Columbians who will be diagnosed with cancer this year.

“We proudly raise our glass to all of our Lose the Booze participants,” said Lou Del Gobbo, Interim President & CEO, BC Cancer Foundation. “Their efforts will support discoveries with the power to improve early detection, treatment and outcomes for cancer patients in B.C. and beyond.”
