Campbell River, B.C. – A generous $50,000 gift from Tru Value Foods to the BC Cancer Foundation will help ensure local patients continue to have access to the latest in cancer care.
Yesterday’s gift will support local improvements to patient care taking place at BC Cancer – Victoria.
It’s a cause that especially hits home for Dean Clarke of Tru Value Foods, having firsthand experience when it comes to the disease.
“I have personally experienced the challenge of dealing with cancer,” he said. “If we can make it even slightly better in any way for someone else, it would give me a huge sense of satisfaction that we have done the best we can.”
He knows the importance of supporting cancer treatment and care at the local level through Tru Value Foods, which has locations in five different communities throughout Vancouver Island.
“We have the privilege and honor of providing a service and supporting community issues like cancer research and treatment,” Dean said. “It’s what we do as a member of this community in support of one another.”
