2017 Hope Couture

The BC Cancer Foundation’s 2017 Hope Couture will raise funds toward Preventing Women’s Reproductive Cancers at the BC Cancer Agency. This elegant luncheon for 400 guests will take place mid-September at The Rocky Mountaineer Station, and will include a silent auction reception, live auction, raffle, gourmet lunch and fashion show by Vancouver’s leading boutique retailers, Bacci’s and Boboli.

Preventing Women’s Reproductive Cancers

With support from Hope Couture, BC Cancer’s OVCARE team will build out a robust toolbox to prevent reproductive cancers. Two life-saving tools are already in place: the opportunistic removal of fallopian tubes for women undergoing hysterectomy or tubal ligation, and hereditary testing for all women diagnosed with high-grade serous ovarian cancer. Currently, no comparable tools exist for endometrioid and clear cell ovarian cancer – this must change. By expanding the toolbox, more reproductive cancers will be prevented.
