How Your Gift Helps

In 2019, more than 27,000 British Columbians will be diagnosed with cancer. Through Jingle Mingle, BC Cancer’s world-leading scientists and clinicians are extending and saving lives and giving hope to families. Jingle Mingle donors have dramatically improved access to diagnostic imaging tools by funding the installation of a PET/CT machine in the Victoria Centre. Donors have also been crucial in supporting the research behind the immunotherapy clinical trials about to begin in Victoria at the Deeley Research Centre. Since the event’s inception twelve years ago, Jingle Mingle guests have raised over $7.5 million to bring world class cancer care closer to home.

This year’s event will raise funds to launch the Innovative Therapies Unit. The goal of this program is to make more clinical trials open to more patients. Currently there are six trials available in Victoria. With philanthropic support, we will quadruple that to twenty four in the next two years, giving oncologists more options to better treat their patients. Clinical trials represent the pinnacle of excellent patient care, and a necessary step in the cutting-edge research that brings us better treatments. In addition to providing new hope to cancer patients, clinical trials will spark change across the cancer landscape that will ensure our health and the health of our children and greandchildren for years to come.

2018 Jingle Mingle

THANK YOU!

The 12th annual Jingle Mingle presented by Thrifty Foods raised an incredible $754,000 to underpin critical research on the island in one of the world’s most promising areas of oncology: immunotherapy.

Fueled by 350 generous Jingle Mingle guests, the gift of advanced cancer care on Vancouver Island is on its way to patients. Funds will directly support groundbreaking immunotherapy development conducted at BC Cancer’s Deeley Research Centre (DRC), one of the first sites in the world to pioneer research of its kind.
