The new BC Cancer – Kamloops will:

Deliver Radiation Therapy

For the first time radiation treatment, which can span several weeks, will be available in Kamloops — saving local patients and families the two hour drive to Kelowna.

Offer Cutting-Edge Tech

Patients will have access to advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies, bringing specialized care closer to home.

Expand Care Capacity

With cancer cases in Kamloops expected to increase by a third over the next two decades, the new BC Cancer centre will deliver timely care to patients in the Interior.

Bringing Cancer Care Closer to Home

The BC Cancer Foundation has launched a $5 million campaign to equip BC Cancer – Kamloops with cutting-edge cancer technology, including:

  • A computerized tomography (CT simulator) – for precise, personalized radiation planning

  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) – for detailed imaging that guides faster, more accurate treatment

  • Precision radiation treatment – targeting cancer while protecting healthy tissue

Set to open in 2028, BC Cancer – Kamloops will improve access to vital cancer care and ease the emotional, physical, and financial burdens of travelling for care.
