Introducing June Guest Blogger: Dr. Michelle Hilts

June 1, 2016

Thank you to our May guest blogger, Dr. David Scott, who shared some interesting insight into work that he and his team are doing to better understand and treat lymphoma.

This month we’re excited to welcome Dr. Michelle Hilts, a medical physicist at the BC Cancer Agency’s Centre for the Southern Interior. Dr. Hilts has been with the Cancer Agency for 17 years, and before settling in the Okanagan worked at BC Cancer – Vancouver and BC Cancer – Victoria.

She finds the combination of clinical duties, research and teaching very fulfilling, and feels especially lucky to be able to mentor young scientists in her field. This is something she’ll cover in her upcoming posts, as it relates to the importance of opportunities for young scientists to train and innovate at the BC Cancer Agency. This aligns well with her roles as Director of the Medical Physics Residency program and also as Research Supervisor for medical physics graduate students.

Join me in reading along this month to learn more about Dr. Hilts’ work
