Introducing November Guest Blogger Dr. Janessa Laskin

I’d like to start by saying thank you to the BC Cancer Foundation’s incredible community of supporters, who on Saturday raised a record-breaking $5 million at the 10^th annual Inspiration Gala! This funding will immediately support the BC Cancer Agency’s Personalized Onco-Genomics (POG) Program, a unique clinical study that is generating genomic data to guide treatment decisions for B.C. patients facing rare and hard-to-treat cancers. This program is one of a kind in the world.

Our November guest blogger, Dr. Janessa Laskin, is one of the leaders of the POG Program and a medical oncologist and senior scientist and the BC Cancer Agency. Over the next few weeks, Dr. Laskin will share what has been learned from POG so far, and how funds from the Gala will enable exciting next steps to crack the cancer code and offer new treatment solutions for patients facing the most challenging types of cancer.
