Workout challenge raises $325,000 for cancer research

June 3, 2019

VANCOUVER, B.C. –  More than 1,000 people across B.C. and beyond broke a sweat every day for the month of May with Workout to Conquer Cancer presented by RYU Apparel and raised an incredible $325,000 for the BC Cancer Foundation.

Participants grabbed their water bottles and walked, ran, danced or skipped while fundraising to advance cancer research and enhancements to patient care across the province.

“Thank you to everyone who committed to move, in some way or another, every day in May,” says Sarah Roth, president & CEO, BC Cancer Foundation. “Your hard work helps provide new hope for families impacted by cancer.”

In its seven year history, Workout has raised over $2.32 million to help improve outcomes for patients across B.C.

With one in two British Columbians facing cancer in their lifetime, events like Workout are providing researchers at BC Cancer with the resources to launch new initiatives as well as state-of-the-art tools and equipment to advance patient comfort and care.
