• Precision Cancer Care: BC Cancer is advancing precision medicine through genomics, immunotherapy and innovative technologies — including blood tests that analyze circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) and AI-driven radiation trials — to personalize treatment, improve outcomes and enhance quality of life. Construction is also underway on a state-of-the-art cyclotron and radiopharmacy lab to advance theranostics and increase access to PET/CT scans.
• Prevention and Screening: BC Cancer has expanded its Prevention & Screening and Hereditary Cancer Programs, including establishing the Diamond Hereditary Cancer Centre to enhance care for high-risk patients and a new pilot program offering BRCA gene testing for all breast cancer patients under 60. It has also launched Canada’s first provincial lung cancer screening program and the country’s first at-home HPV self-screening kit.
• Clinical Trials: BC Cancer, one of Canada’s most active clinical trials sites with over 380 active trials, has expanded its clinical trials network. Teams across the province are at the forefront of research, including advancing high-precision radiation research and launching first-in-Canada immunotherapy CAR T-cell trials — with over 40% of patients seeing complete regression
